Poverty Relief

Psalm 9:18 - For the needy shall not always be forgotten, the expectation of the poor shall not perish for ever.
Unfortunately poorer communities are more exposed to the adverse effects of extreme weather or the outbreak of disease. In the past SHAREAfrica has responded to appeals for help during conditions of famine and flood. The limited resources of the organization mean that only small pockets of need can be targeted. This is done by assessment of need and the coordination of support through the help of local contacts.

Help can be in the form of food, shelter, and basic supplies. Where crops have been damaged there may be some assistance with replacement seed and fertilizer.

The post emergency follow up examines the recovery process and how effective the intervention measures have been. Accountability for how money is spent is always an important priority.
