The country is still suffering from the Covid-19 pandemic. Numbers remain low compared to other countries but the economy has been severely affected. Unless there is a freeze on bond repayments the county is likely to default. Credit rating has reduced to ‘junk status’

However, it means that Sterling received by SHAREAfrica Zambia is worth a lot more.

Orphan Programme

The Feeding Programme is going well. Remote locations have also been visited. The only complaint is that ‘we need more’.

This is just the first month so we will learn as we go. The factory is keeping up with demand

Farming Operation Grows

The 2020 season has finished and preparations have begun for planting when the first rains arrive in November.

An additional 50 farmers will be added to the Outgrowes scheme. The new farmers are mainly from the northern part of the Eastern Province.

New early maturing varieties of Groundnut seed will be trialled to try and avoid the problems with drought that we experienced last year.

Six new employees have been added to help with the expanding programme

The new storage shed is in final stages of completion. A Caretaker / security house will be built before we start storing large volumes of grain
